Episode 31

31: No Really, Rubbing Dirt On it is Not the Answer

Summary

I had another pretty large personal experience last week that reminded me how important it is for us to be more deliberate in life. I was pretty sick and then got the word that my dad had passed away. Even with that, I still struggled to apply some of the lessons I have been sharing with y'all. So today, I thought I'd take a slightly different approach to being deliberate during hard experiences. I hope you will get something out of this episode.

Key Topics & Time Stamps

Key Takeaways

  • Being deliberate during or even right after tough experiences will help us get more out of them and be better because of them.
  • Try and be present
  • Ask yourself questions like:
  • What can I learn from this situation that I may not learn any other way
  • What could I be doing now that I can't normally do or may never get an opportunity to do again
  • How will I be better because of this
  • Reflect on:
  • What matters most right now?
  • What matters most in my life in general?
  • Are there course corrections I'd like to make?
  • Slight Future Focus:
  • What will be different when this too passes?
  • How will I apply what I have learned?
  • How will I be better prepared for something similar happening in the future?
