25: Negative Stories We Tell Ourselves & Their Impact

Summary

This week I got thinking about how all the negativity in the world starts to influence the stories we tell ourselves and makes them negative as well. These are stories about ourselves, others and our lives. The problem is that they are rarely founded in reality and they can have a serious impact on our lives. They distract us from what is most important, drain our wells and really pull us off the path to our most potential. Let's discuss.

Key Takeaways

  • It is almost always easier to focus on the negative versus the positive
  • We tell ourselves negative stories about others, our lives and ourselves
  • If we don't recognize we do this, we won't be able to get out of it
  • It will take effort to become more positive focused
